2021-Rep. Dusty Johnson and Sen. Mike Rounds tour Watertown’s expanded Glacial Lakes Rubber & Plastics

Glacial Lakes Rubber & Plastics’ finally got to show off its 40,000-square-foot expansion Tuesday. Employees have been working in the new area for around 18 months, but the COVID-19 pandemic hindered the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Featured guests included U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds and U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, both South Dakota Republicans. They addressed a crowd of roughly 50 people after taking a tour of the business. On July 23, 2018 Glacial Lakes Rubber & Plastics was invited to participate in the Made in America event at the White House in Washington, D.C. Companies across the 50 States of the United States were chosen to represent Made in America products as a tribute to the American Workers. Glacial Lakes Rubber & Plastics of Watertown, SD had that honor to represent the State of South Dakota in 2018. Glacial Lakes Rubber and Plastics showcased footwear soles which they manufacture for military combat boots and athletic shoes.
